iPhone and iPad

Not yet

The iOS build is not finished. Until it is, students and teachers on an iPhone should use the website, which works fully in Safari and holds exactly the same records.

Installing on Android

Four steps, done on the phone. The third one is where people usually stop, so it is written out in full.

  1. Download the file

Download it on the phone itself rather than on a computer. Your browser may ask you to confirm, because the file did not come from the Play Store. That is expected.

  2. Open it

Tap the file in your notifications, or find it in Downloads and tap it there.

  3. Allow the install

Android will say your browser is not allowed to install unknown apps. Tap Settings on that message, turn the permission on for the browser you used, then press back. This is Android checking that you meant to do it, and it only asks once.

  4. Sign in

Use the same email and password as the website. If your school has not set your account up yet, the app cannot create one for you. Ask your teacher.

What the app does

For students

  • Type in the results from your paper card by entering its code.
  • See your own numbers over time, and what to practise next.
  • Read your reports. You never see anyone else's, and nobody sees yours.

For teachers

  • Open the class you teach and see who needs looking at, and why.
  • Enter results for a student who has no device at home.
  • Plan the next session's stations from what the evidence actually shows.

Before you install

  • The app needs a network connection. It does not keep a copy of your records on the phone.
  • It asks for no permissions: no camera, no location, no contacts, no files.
  • Records live with your school, under the same privacy notice as the website.
  • Because it is not distributed through the Play Store, it will not update itself. New versions are posted on this page.
